Madison, Wisconsin

Build the town, one small step at a time.

Madison Town Makers is an open ecosystem of citizen developers, tradespeople, advocates, and professionals tackling Madison's housing and commercial needs the way real neighborhoods grew — incrementally, locally, and together.

Our ethos

Big change is small change, repeated.

Madison doesn't need to wait for a megaproject to fix its housing shortage or activate a sleepy block. The towns we love were built by ordinary people doing one small, careful project at a time — the duplex on the corner, the bakery under the apartment, the accessory unit out back.

We're rebuilding that muscle in Madison — together, in public, and with everyone who touches the building process.

Who belongs here

Everyone who touches the building process.

Incremental development is a team sport. Whether you've built ten buildings or you're just curious about your first, there's a seat for you at the table.
